Meet Kelvin Yau
Kelvin graduated as a physiotherapist from Curtin University and has worked in private practices, proficiently treating musculoskeletal conditions, spinal dysfunctions, and TMJ or jaw pain. Kelvin is also highly experienced in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation including the management of vertigo and dizziness. He provides a combination of hands-on therapy including dry needling and exercise prescriptions to provide symptom relief and long-term management.
Kelvin focuses on providing patient-centred and goal-specific care, ensuring all of his patients are satisfied with the outcome. By continuing his studies, Kelvin can incorporate the latest evidence-based practices into his treatment. This ensures he comes up with a treatment plan together with patients that best aligns with their circumstances. With a holistic approach, Kelvin addresses not only the symptoms but also the root causes, providing insights about self-management, injury prevention and promoting long-term wellness.
Kelvin prioritises active listening and learning a patient’s story to understand your concerns and goals fully. He believes building a rapport can help with improving the overall patient outcome. Sustaining his own sporting injuries back when he was an active badminton player, and having experience working with different sports teams, Kelvin understands the perspective of being a patient and the frustration of being out of play. This makes him dedicated to assisting patients to return to sport as soon as possible.
In his spare time, you can find Kelvin enjoying his coffee, hanging out with friends and listening to music.
